MIGRATION HIGHWAY STORY

On the Road Again is a famous song by Willie Nelson. That’s exactly what these tiny birds undertake for a biannual migration from North to South America. It’s a rocky road in the highway in the sky but we mere mortals can help the birds.

The goal of this non-profit is to travel from Key West (Mile Marker Zero) to the northernmost point of Maine. This is the Atlantic Flyway for the migrating birds. We need to give them food, water, and shelter along this route. It’s easy. Just start with three native plants in your yard along with a water dish.

Once people start bird watching, its an addiction because its so much fun. The public can download the E-Bird app and learn to ID birds and start their own life lists.

Help me – Help you – Help the birds.

LOGO  STORY

Much of the inspiration for this project came from the world of rock and roll. The logo was inspired by the song Born to be Wild by Stepphenwolf. The older video shows the band traveling on motocycles through the Southwest. At about the 3 minute mark, one stands up on the motocycle to flap his arms. “Bingo” says Tricia. I’ll put my bird on a motocycle so they can travel the migration highway! BOLA – Be on the lookout for high flying speeding birds!
